Privacy Policy
Effective
This site is operated by Michael Mayden (“I”, “me”). It collects as little as it can, and this page explains what that is, why, and what you can do about it.
What I collect
There are two ways information reaches me through this site.
- Contact form: your name, email address and the message you write. That is all the form asks for, and it is used only to reply to you.
- Hosting logs: like any web server, the hosting provider records standard technical details of each request — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These are kept briefly for security and to keep the site running, and are not used to profile you.
What I do not collect
There are no analytics scripts, no advertising trackers and no cookies on this site. If you choose a colour theme, that preference is stored in your own browser (localStorage) and never sent to me. No account is required for anything here.
Why I use it
Messages sent through the contact form are used to answer your enquiry and, if we go on to work together, to set that work up. Technical logs are used to keep the site secure and available. Where privacy law requires a legal basis, mine is the steps you ask me to take before entering into an agreement, and my legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Who else sees it
I do not sell personal information, and I do not share it for advertising. A small number of service providers process data on my behalf so the site can work:
- Vercel — hosts the site and handles the request logs described above.
- Resend — delivers contact form messages to my inbox as email.
- A scheduling provider, if you book a call through a link on this site. Their own privacy policy applies to what you enter there.
How long I keep it
Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and, where they lead to work, for as long as business records reasonably require. Server logs are retained by the hosting provider for a short, fixed period. You can ask me to delete a message at any time.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used. Email me and I will respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live — including under state privacy laws in the United States, the GDPR in the European Union and UK data protection law — you may have further rights, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Because this site does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, there is nothing to opt out of on that front, and browser signals such as Global Privacy Control are respected by default.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS only, with security headers configured and no third-party scripts. Contact messages travel by email, which is as secure as email is: please do not send passwords or other sensitive credentials through the form.
Children
This site is intended for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from them; if you believe a child has sent me something, email me and I will delete it.
Links to other sites
Links to a scheduling page or any other site lead to services I do not control, and this policy stops at the edge of this site.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with an updated effective date. Changes that materially affect how your information is used will be called out on this page.
